The My iTunes Wire is a really cool feature that we're proud of, and we're certain users will find it useful and a great way to display what they've been up to on iTunes to the world. However, it does require a few instructions before you can set it up.
Make sure you follow these instructions exactly, or else you may find the Wire does not work. Also, due to iTunes limitations, this feature is only available to users with an iTunes Account in the US Store.
1. Open iTunes and sign in to the store. Click the link to 'My Account'.
2. You should be presented with a page letting you change your account details. Click the button 'Manage My iTunes'.
3. Accept the iTunes Agreement to let the Wire connect to your iTunes account
4. Now, tick all the boxes on the page (My iTunes Purchases, My iTunes Favourites, My iTunes Reviews). Beside each you should see, once ticked, a 'Get HTML Code' button. Click one of these buttons and your browser will open.
5. iTunes will open a webpage that lets you configure My iTunes - you can ignore the contents of this page, simply look at your browser's address bar. Your My iTunes ID is the number at the end of the URL: for example, &userid=269848958 - this user's ID would be 269848958.
6. Find the 'My iTunes' wire on your Swimwire profile or on the Wires page, and click the Configuration icon or the Settings link.
8. Where it says 'My iTunes User ID' type in your user ID you found in Step 5.
9. Configure the other settings as you like, and click Save.
10. You're all done.
