Since joining the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association in 1985, Marianne Virgili has rapidly advanced tourism development in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, while achieving a wealth of professional accolades. In her current position as President and CEO of Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, Marianne Virgili executes numerous exigent duties, including budget allocation, operations administration, and program augmentation. Overseeing an eight-person staff, Marianne Virgili serves as the Editor and Publisher of the Official Insider’s Guide to Glenwood Springs, the Chamber’s award-winning visitors magazine. In addition, Marianne Virgili serves as a Film Commissioner for the Glenwood Springs Film Commission, as a member of the Roaring Fork Valley Community Health Plan Board of Directors, and on numerous executive committees directly connected to the growth of the Glenwood Springs community. The recipient of a Daily Point of Light Award, Marianne Virgili earned presidential recognition for her significant achievements in mentoring a high school youth group. Additionally, Former Colorado Governor Roy Romer honored Marianne Virgili with an Outstanding Colorado Youth Philanthropy Award. Furthermore, Marianne Virgili was named a 2009-2010 Ford Fellow by the Ford Foundation Fellowship for Regional Sustainable Development. Garnering several nationwide distinctions, the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association has met unprecedented achievements under Marianne Virgili’s effectual leadership. Marianne Virgili’s Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association has earned the three-time distinction as one of the top three small/medium-sized chambers of commerce in the country. Throughout the years, the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association and Marianne Virgili have collected 16 Awards for Communications Excellence (ACE) from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), including for publications and marketing materials and for the association’s comprehensive website: www.glenwoodchamber.com.
